This class is designed for those new to yoga, or those who have practiced a few times either with a teacher or a video. The class will consist of centering, warm-ups including sun salutations with some flow, standing and balancing postures, twists, releases, and end with a resting pose. The class will introduce yoga stretches and postures to increase flexibility, strength, endurance, poise, and balance. Emphasis will be placed on uniting breathing with moving the body to build focus and concentration, to move all the muscles, juice all the joints, and balance the body front and back, side to side, top and bottom. Particular attention will be paid to alignment. Modifications for all poses will be offered throughout the class to honor the student listening to their body. Please be sure to bring a yoga mat, blocks if you have them, and a water bottle to each class. Patty McGown, LPC and Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher-200 will be your instructor.
